MAGDALENA KICKS OFF FRONTIER DAY WITH PATRIOTIC PARADE AND CALL FOR COMMUNITY VOLUNTEERS

Magdalena is set to celebrate its annual Frontier Day/Fourth of July Parade on Saturday, June 28th, at 9:00 AM, promising a vibrant start to the festivities. Kicking off on Duggins Avenue with registration beginning at 8:30 AM, this year’s parade features two exciting new judged divisions, with a movie producer currently filming in Magdalena agreeing to serve as the official judge.

Participation in the parade is free, though pre-registration is highly encouraged and can be completed at Village Hall, by emailing your name and phone number to Info@magdalena-nm.com, or by texting/calling Wini at 724-272-4285. This year, participants can compete for a $50 prize in the “Best Dressed Pet/Animal” division (excluding rattlesnakes, please!) and another $50 prize in the “General Division” for floats, decorated trucks, and equipment. The organizers encourage everyone to don their patriotic colors and help make this the best parade yet.

In addition to the parade, Magdalena is seeking friendly volunteers to staff the information booth during Frontier Day to assist visitors. With Frontier Day, donkey racing, and a movie filming all happening the same weekend, community support is crucial to help visitors navigate the events and showcase Magdalena’s welcoming spirit. Those interested in volunteering should call or text 610-656-2861 with their name and phone number. To help fund the Frontier Festival, the Magdalena Chamber of Commerce is also hosting a Rifle and Knife Raffle, with tickets available at local businesses including TumbleWeeds, Sierra Propane, the Steer Stop, Winston’s, A&X Propane, and from Chamber of Commerce officers and the Mayor.
