Library celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month

GOING ON TODAY! The Socorro Public Library invites the community to a special, free family event on Monday, September 15, at 4:00 p.m. to celebrate the start of Hispanic Heritage Month. The event will be held in the Children’s Room at the library, located at 401 Park Street.
Hispanic Heritage Month, which runs from September 15 to October 15, honors the diverse cultures and contributions of Hispanic and Latino Americans. The local event at the Socorro Public Library is designed to be a fun and educational experience for all ages, with a focus on celebrating different cultures through food, stories, and crafts.
The afternoon will feature a variety of activities, including story time and hands-on crafts. Children and their families will have the opportunity to create air-dry clay salsa bowls, a creative activity that ties into the event’s food-tasting component. Attendees can also enjoy a classic Hispanic treat: chips and salsa.
This event is part of the library’s ongoing commitment to providing engaging programs that celebrate the rich cultural tapestry of Socorro and the broader New Mexico community.
