Cornhole tournament set for July 4th in Socorro

The Socorro Fire Department is excited to announce its 3rd Annual 4th of July Cornhole Tournament Fundraiser, a community event aimed at supporting local families in need due to fire loss. The popular tournament will take place on Thursday, July 4th, at the City of Socorro Rodeo and Sports Complex.
This year’s event promises a day of friendly competition and patriotic celebration, all for a vital cause. Registration for teams will begin promptly at 9:00 AM, with bags flying at 10:00 AM. The tournament will feature doubles play, and participants are encouraged to Bring Your Own Partner (BYOP). A blind draw will follow for those who do not have a partner.
Entry fees are set at $25 per person or $50 per team. A significant portion of the proceeds, 50%, will be dedicated to assisting families who have suffered devastating losses due to fires in the community.
n addition to the thrilling cornhole action, attendees can look forward to exciting raffles and prizes, including cornhole bags and festive fireworks. It’s an opportunity for community members to gather, celebrate Independence Day, and make a tangible difference in the lives of those affected by unforeseen tragedies.
